Companion Services
Companion services are non-medical support services designed to provide social, emotional, and practical assistance to individuals, especially seniors or those with disabilities, who may be at risk of isolation or loneliness.

Social and Emotional Support: The primary focus is on providing companionship, engaging clients in conversation, recreational activities, hobbies, and meaningful interactions to reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation

Accompaniment: Companions may accompany clients to medical appointments, community events, or social outings, offering both company and transportation.

Recreational Activities: Engaging in games, puzzles, crafts, or other hobbies that stimulate mental and emotional well-being.

Light Household Assistance: While not their primary role, companions may assist with light housekeeping, meal preparation, grocery shopping, running errands, and organizing paperwork.

Companion Services Do Not Include

Medical or Skilled Nursing Care: Companions do not provide hands-on medical care or assistance with activities of daily living that require direct physical contact (such as bathing or dressing).

Personal Care: Tasks like toileting, bathing, or medication administration are not typically included and would require a personal care aide or home health aide.
